A fascinating new novel by Rona Simmons.

“Postcards from Wonderland” is a new work of historical fiction that unfolds among the Revere Beach amusements of the early 1900s. Much of the action weaves in and out of what was then known as America’s Beach, itself an attraction for the many immigrants that called Revere home. Indeed, author Rona Simmons drew inspiration for the novel’s characters from her family who settled in Revere in the late 1800s. Enthralled by what she learned as she researched period roller coasters, tunnels of love, fun houses, and particularly Wonderland Park, Simmons began her own collection of amusement park memorabilia.

The novel tells the story of Rose Margolin, a newly married young woman who finds her life turned upside down the night her husband is arrested. He's become the latest victim of the local mob's hijacking of bootlegged alcohol and likely to spend considerable time in jail. His missteps drag Rose into the midst of the brutal criminal gang — a nightmare she’ll need strength and cunning to escape.
